Most of the pictures so far are from early morning, just after sunrise. These images were taken at about 7:30 PM on Friday evening.
The entrance to the Gutierrez-Hubbell House Open Space as viewed from across Isleta Blvd. in the parking lot at Judy's Trading Post and Auction.
We entered from the main gate to the Gutierrez-Hubbell House. This is a (north) side view of the caretaker's house taken from the parking lot.
Here we are looking at the rear of the parking lot and the dirt service road that leads to the Pajarito Ditch at the rear (west side) of the open space.
These are shots of the of the demonstration farm field behind the Gutierrez-Hubbell House from the parking lot.
Oscar (a Wheaton Terrier) and I walked down the path to the rear of the open space.
An attempt to capture the pattern left by a removed branch on the Cottonwood tree on the edge of the Pajarito Ditch.
A few views of the Pajarito Ditch. First, looking straight down into it from the east side of the ditch,
then to the south (toward the Hubbell Circle boundary),
at the fields being watered on the other side of the ditch,
and then to the north, toward the Don Felipe Road boundary of the open space.
A couple of photos of the remains of a tree spanning the ditch, providing a natural bridge to the other side.
The perimeter trail leading to the north.
The first water gate encountered when heading north from the dirt service road.
The northwest corner of the original open space allocation. To the north is the extension to the open space.
This is the perimeter trail leading from the Pajarito Ditch to the northeast corner of the original open space on Isleta Blvd.
A shot across the field with the greenhouse on the right and Judy's Trading Post and Auction across Isleta Blvd. in the center of the frame.
There's another picnicking spot on the northeast corner of the open space at Isleta Blvd.
And an entrance to the open space from Isleta Blvd. on the driveway of the open space extension.
On the other side of the driveway is an entrance to the open space extension.
